Unitlab AI November Product Update

Here's the summary of what we have been working on in November 2025. It's a lot.

Unitlab AI November Product Update

November was a busy month focused on pushing the platform forward and laying the groundwork for major improvements that will roll out over the next few weeks. Here is a deeper look at what we delivered, what is almost ready, and how these updates support faster and more reliable data workflows for AI teams.

Image Data Augmentation is now live

One of the most impactful additions this month is our new image augmentation toolkit. You can now generate augmented versions of your images directly inside Unitlab, which allows you to improve dataset quality without leaving the platform or writing custom scripts.

With augmentation, you can:

  • Increase dataset diversity with rotations, flips, crops, and brightness adjustments
  • Strengthen model performance through richer and more varied examples
  • Reduce overfitting and dataset bias by balancing rare classes and edge cases
  • Speed up experimentation by preparing training data inside the same workspace where you annotate and manage it

This is a big step toward building a more complete data preparation layer inside Unitlab. Our goal is to help teams move from raw data to high quality training sets with fewer tools and fewer steps.

Video Annotation is coming soon

Video is becoming essential across robotics, retail, industrial automation, and security. We are finalizing a new video annotation module designed to make labeling long sequences more intuitive and significantly faster.

Unitlab AI - Video Data Annotation

The upcoming release will include:

  • Smooth frame by frame annotation with clear playback controls
  • Object tracking that reduces repetitive labeling across frames
  • A timeline view that makes it easy to jump through sequences
  • Unified project management for teams working with both images and video

We built this with speed and clarity in mind, and early testers have already reported meaningful gains in labeling efficiency. We will begin rolling out early access soon.

Along with these bigger updates, we also spent time on a wide range of smaller bug fixes and quality of life improvements across the platform to keep your workflows smooth and stable. More updates are coming in December, and as always, thank you for all the feedback that helps us shape Unitlab into the toolkit AI teams rely on.
